More than 140,000 financially-strapped homeowners called the national HOPE hotline in the last three months of 2007, as an increasing number of people defaulted on mortgage payments and faced foreclosure.
The hotline, which offers foreclosure prevention counseling by certified counselors, averages about 3,200 calls each day. Operated by the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, the hotline number is (888) 995-HOPE.

I just don’t feel sorry for these people who are now in trouble with their mortgages. A majority are TWO income families with brand new vehicles, flat screen tvs that take up an entire wall, eating out 7 days a week, and maxing out their credit cards on more junk.
