With the housing market at a crawl, one Scottsdale real estate agency is launching a new effort to capture the curiosity of home hunters driving through neighborhoods. Last week, The Equitable Real Estate Co. unveiled a sleek new look for their For Sale signs — opting for all black backgrounds and catchy slogans, such as "Friends may never leave" and "Go ahead forward your mail." Home sellers using the company have 70 or so sayings from which to choose.
"The game is exposure" whether it’s marketing on the Internet, in the media or through open houses, said Mike Balzotti, vice president of education and development for the firm. The idea is to get people to remember Equitable and hopefully open up a conversation, Balzott said."If you’ve got a sign that causes people to smile and is a little bit fun, then that can create an icebreaker," he said.So what do you think of signs like the one above? Would it intrigue you enough to call the agency?

I think the signs are very creative. I’m surprised other companies haven’t thought of this before. It makes you stop and think a bit and I know of no other real estate sign that has done that to me before.

I like them. They are different and creative - and in today’s real estate market, with so many homes for sale - creativity is what’s needed to stand out from the rest!

They are like elegant billboards for the homes they represent. Clever concept. It’s a lot better than seeing an agent’s picture on the sign with their arms crossed. I’d want one if my home was for sale.

Everyone knows that when a sign is placed on a yard that the home is for sale - so why not be fun and different ~ I like it!

I love the signs. Very classy and definitely seperated themselves from the other companies. Isn’t that what competition is all about?

I’m so tired of seeing people’s faces on real estate signs. They are so cheesy. This is class. What a great way to get noticed.
